Decay
Poster ✓
In the autumn of 2015, Blank Poster and Kon-Paper called out to designers and creatives to prepare and submit posters based on the word ‘Decay’. I, with the precious retouching-collaboration of Luca Silvestro and Guido Pezzolato, created a poster that gives a strong ‘social-criticism’ importance to that word. I placed, onto a wall that once was clean and luxurious, a bold and authoritarian lettering that compose words that might be clearly recognized as slogans of our contemporary society. A society focused on fravenous-business and greed, apprehension and cruel capitalism. ‘Trade!’, ‘Hate!’, ‘Cheat!’, ‘Fear!’, ‘Obey!’ were once keywords of the hegemonic society, today (in a hypothetical future) they are just a fallen signboard shadow. Rust and filth dominates on the once-was luxurious wall. The only letters that were not completely worn by time compose the word ‘Decay’ and they echo as a warning and a dark criticism of the dirty contemporary ideology, focused on rage.
The poster was exhibited in München (Germany) at Einstein-Kultur as part of the Decay (Verfall) exposure.
